Macaroni without the i

During Christmas break (so long ago!) I visited one of my favorite places, Honey B's Macarons. The shop is located in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. They make, decorate, and sell macarons that are made with the finest ingredients including honey from their hives in Castle Pines. The macarons also have the most adorable decorations which are so pretty that you don't want to eat them! When you walk in the shop the macarons are lined up and a honeycomb like structure is behind the counter. The employees also greet you and tell you how macaron is pronounced, macaroni without an i.
There are lots of flavors offered and all taste incredible. I love that the macarons all taste like the real thing, mostly because they are made with the real things. It's also refreshing that they aren't overly sugary like many things are. During this visit to the shop I purchased (from left to right) White Chocolate Macadamia, Hazelnut, Sugar Cookie Dough, Chocolate Orange, Gingerbread, Honey, Pistachio, Blueberry Jam, Earl Grey, Fig, Goat Cheese Pear, Walnut, Birthday Cake, and Neapolitan.

My friend, Nai and I went!

White Chocolate Macadamia
Not only is this macaron decorated beautifully but beautifully tasting! The macadamia made up the filling and shined when combined with the cookie for an amazing dessert.

Hazelnut
Hazelnut tasted very much like the nut.

Sugar Cookie Dough
Sugar cookie Dough was so adorable! The pink and sprinkles were too cute! It tasted just like Sugar Cookie dough, and dare I say even better.

Chocolate Orange
Orange Chocolate was gorgeous. It tasted just like a chocolate orange and the flavor was incredibly rich and vibrant.
Gingerbread
Gingerbread pleasantly surprised me! I like gingerbread, but I don’t know I just didn't think I’d like a gingerbread macaron, but it blew me away! The little sugar crystals are adorable and when you take a bite wow does it taste like gingerbread. All of the spices are bursting and oh so fab!

Honey
Honey tasted just like the Honeycomb cereal, but without the sugar. The filling was lovely and so sweet. The Cookie was soft with a little crunch and tasted like sweet honey.
Pistachio
I actually forgot to take a picture, but don't worry it is just as great as the others.
Pistachio actually has little pistachio bits in the filling and tastes fantastic.

 Blueberry Jam
Blueberry Jam (The bottom left) tastes just like a blueberry! Probably because they used real blueberries. It’s like the perfect blueberry not sour and not squishy sweet. Perfect combination!

Earl Grey
Earl Grey (the grey one) is a savory macaron and it tastes just like tea! There is such a nice herbal flavor in it and the painting on it adds even more class.

Fig, Goat Cheese, Pear, and Walnut
The Fig, Goat Cheese, Pear, and Walnut macaron is one of my favorites. I love that it is more savory than the others and just as delicious. The filling consists of pear, fig and walnut pieces while I believe the cookie is where the cheese is figured in. The combination makes a unique macaron with excellent flavor

Birthday Cake
Birthday cake is adorable and decorated with itty-bitty sprinkles. It tastes just like a vanilla birthday cake!

Neapolitan
Finally Neapolitan was fabulous! It is one of their limited edition macarons that is filled with strawberry and chocolate with a vanilla shell. So Scrumptious!

I love Honey B's Macarons! The flavors are magnificent and the in store experience
just adds to it. They also have a new website, https://www.honeybsmacarons.com/
and their macarons can even be ordered online!

God Bless!
This is not sponsored, I just thought it'd be fun to do a review!

20 Activities for 20 year Olds

Good Morning Family and Friends! Recently I have been incredibly bored, hopefully my online classes will entertain me more. I have previously stated that I wasn’t practicing social distancing or whatever, however my mom has been making me stay inside more often and now Colorado is on lockdown. I looked up activities for 20 year olds and didn’t find anything, I guess people make these lists for stay at home moms with young children. So, I decided to make my own list for you, the audience, if you’re bored (which if you’re reading this you probably are) and looking for something to do. Read Woah, how original...read. I don’t read for pleasure often. In the summer I read The Great Gatsby  and I usually read one of Father Greg Boyle’s books some other time in the year. I also read my Vogue magazines. Two books and a magazine isn’t that much. However, since there is more time to do stuff, I figured I could read more. My brother gave me The Princess Bride to read, I’ve read a lit...

What I've Learned in College: End of Freshman Year Fun part 2

Continued from Part 1 8.Cowboys are Real Cowboys are typically seen as people who used to live in the Wild West years and years ago. I honestly think that my grandfather was one of the last American cowboys. While, I wills till continue to this this, I have learned that cowboys are still real! Every once in a while, I will see an old man sporting leather cowboy boots, a blue pair of Wrangler jeans, a button down shirt, a weathered, leather belt, a leather vest, a cowboy hat, a grown out beard, and skin weathered and tan like the leather. I didn’t think people still dressed like this besides for show! This is someone’s real life outfit! I am always astonished to see people like this because I don’t see them regularly. They look like their straight off a horse in ye old west! Students even wear cowboy boots daily! It’s something else. 9. People still pressure you. I don't drink for multiple reasons, and I was under the impression that people don't pressure people i...

Guest Post: Boys, Friendships, and Knowing who You are by Harriet Alove

I invited a close friend of mine to write a post about whatever she desired. Harriet Alove (pen name) reflects on boys and finding who she is while in college.  ------------------------------             Much like Katherine since I have been at college I have noticed a lot of new different things. I am no longer coddled by the Jesuits, no more Kairos, no more of my sisters passing me in the hallways while I’m having a meltdown during class and having them sit and talk with me ‘till I feel better. Going to one of the largest state universities in the country has truly shell shocked me. Having ‘theology of the body’ as the most of a sex ed class I’ve had, to oddly having more knowledge about Myer’s Briggs types thanks to Mr. Cook’s junior theology. However, what has shocked me the most is how lost I have felt about myself. I’m no longer a swimmer, a good old Catholic girl going to ...
