Christmas Memories: It's the Thought that Counts

Every week until Christmas I will share a Christmas memory to fill everyone with joy and cheer.

One year for Christmas (when I was much younger) I needed to get my dad a gift, so I decided on underwear, because I thought it was funny. However this was not normal underwear, but a pair I would sew myself. I gathered together a pair of my dad's underwear from his drawer, some black cotton fabric we had, and glow in the dark thread. I began by laying out my dad's underwear and matching the length of the band to the fabric and cut. I attempted to match the pair of underwear, regarding the pattern. I also decided to sew on either "Merry Christmas Daddy" or just "Daddy," I don't remember, once again in glow in the dark thread. I began to sew (luckily, I made the pattern in a way that required me to ony sew one side and the legs) with the glow in the dark thread and was finished! How nice to receive a personalized pair of underwear from your daughter !

On Christmas morning my dad got to open up his gift! I insisted he try them on, but he wouldn't because my mom and he said they were too small. I didn't understand how they would be too small as I did copy the other underwear. Kind of a bummer. But, thankfully my dad still has them to this day (At least that's what my parents say, because I haven't seen them in years).

The Best Experience of my Young Life: Casa Bonita

I read an article by Westword that read if Disneyland and Tijuana had a baby and left it to fend for itself in a strip mall on Colfax, it’d be Casa Bonita. I finally got to experience this gem with some of my friends, Nai and Hannah, who have also been eager to try the restaurant out. We pulled into the packed parking lot of Casa Bonita that stood in the same shopping complex as two dollar stores and a kids dental office next door. People surrounded the outside as the fountain splashed and I took photos as rapidly as a mom on Christmas morning. This was it, the best of themed dining experiences. Summer Style 2019

This summer I have been trying to expand my wardrobe. I noticed I have many solid color shirts and my outfits have gotten boring. I have been trying to change this by getting a top in every color to change it up. It has been a little tough because I try to follow Karl Lagerfeld's advice of purchasing pieces I either need or really love. I Freakin' Love Summer

Today is the third week of school. I have had such a long summer and wish it could be longer! For my own records I wrote most of what I did this summer and enjoyed (and didn't enjoy) so much.
