Good Morning Family and Friends! Recently I have been incredibly bored, hopefully my online classes will entertain me more. I have previously stated that I wasn’t practicing social distancing or whatever, however my mom has been making me stay inside more often and now Colorado is on lockdown. I looked up activities for 20 year olds and didn’t find anything, I guess people make these lists for stay at home moms with young children. So, I decided to make my own list for you, the audience, if you’re bored (which if you’re reading this you probably are) and looking for something to do.
Read
Woah, how original...read. I don’t read for pleasure often. In the summer I read The Great Gatsby and I usually read one of Father Greg Boyle’s books some other time in the year. I also read my Vogue magazines. Two books and a magazine isn’t that much. However, since there is more time to do stuff, I figured I could read more. My brother gave me The Princess Bride to read, I’ve read a little so far and hopefully will continue. I also have tried to actually read The Bible because I usually just glance at it. I’m trying to focus and think on it more and talk to Jesus about it as well.
Run
Lately, I’ve begun running again. I try to run 21 days straight in order to establish a habit. I did this last summer and enjoyed pushing myself farther and farther. However, last year I pulled a tendon or something in my shin and couldn’t run as far anymore, so I’m trying to prevent that by stretching my splits more. I typically run between 0.5 to 1.5 miles, but I hope to go farther this year.
Karaoke
I love singing! I’m not very good at it. I like to just pull up a song and dance, dance, dance by myself! Sad? Maybe, but you won’t feel sad when you’re singing and dancing!
Homework
If you didn’t already do it, this might be a good idea. Sometimes it can be hard to be motivated though.
Clean
Houses can get dirty, especially now when we’re staying in them 24 hours a day. It also feels so nice to be in a clean, fresh area. Also its a good idea to wash your day and night pajamas.
Plan your Wedding
So, I’ve been doing this quite a bit via The Knot. Right now I plan to have it at The Broadmoor Estate House and I’ll be marrying either Pete Davidson or Timothee Chalamet. The funny thing is my wedding is currently planned for 2027 and The Knot already has things for me to do this week! Ridiculous!
I’ve always enjoyed crafts! There is nothing like the smell of glue! I enjoy decoupage right now. I cut pictures and words that I like out of Vogue and paste them on a box. It’s actually very cute and stylish. Go ahead and make one or ask me I have a lot of boredom and magazines. You could also get chalk and draw outside too! I saw that idea on the news.
Nap
I’ve been taking more naps lately, not too many though. I don’t know why. Sometimes it’s a good way to have the day pass by.
Legos
My brother and I were bored, so we brought up his old legos. We began building and it was fun for a bit. It took up a good hour, but I think we’re regressing mentally.
Board Games
My brother, mom, and I have been playing games often. We usually have a daily scrabble game, although my mom just bought a new card game. You can also play board games by yourself.
Walk Outside
This is similar to running, but it’s just very interesting to be outside nowadays. I’ve actually seen more people out and about. One idea is to golf in the park, since GolfWorld stated Colorado is not open for play. I did this, but it was very difficult to find the burrowed balls in the snow.
Relive Memories
I enjoy looking at pictures and revisiting the memories that come with. It’s amazing what all has changed and what is still the same. I also love the silly poses and looks.
Pray the Rosary
I was just reminded that I need to do this today. I usually pray The Divine Mercy Chaplet and follow online instructions. You don’t even need an actual rosary, because we have ten fingers.
Hunt for Toilet Paper
This is a fun one. In the mornings my brother and I sometimes do this. We haven’t found any yet even after going to multiple stores. However, this morning my mom waited in line at Walmart for some.
Online Shop
My favorite hobby! I love online shopping! I typically just look, wait two months, and buy. I only buy what I need and love. Right now there are some good sales! I added some of my favorite, so you to can help the economy.
Lilly Pulitzer is 30% off (very rare as they only have two sales a year)
Neiman Marcus
Kiel James Patrick is 20% off
J.Crew
and so on.
Organize Clothing
I recently did it and donated it. I had a lot of clothes that I don’t wear any more. It’s also great to change your winter apparel to your summer clothes!
Cook
I need to learn to cook more than cereal and breakfast sandwiches. I’d like to learn more. In fact I just helped my mom make corn bread.
Plan a Trip
I like planning trips. It’s fun to think of an itinerary and all the fun things there are. I like discovering all the little things I want to visit as well.
Or Hulu or Amazon or Cable or Xfinity or whatever. This is mainly what I’ve been doing. I’m watching The Office right now. I also finished Love is Blind with my dad and I think Jessica is way more intelligent than she portrays because she asks the real questions and makes a nice living. I also recently watched Lady Bird and Eighth Grade on Amazon, both are great coming of age movies. I also have watched Tiger King. Personally, he seems like he'd be fun to talk to without all his sketchy behavior.
Pray
What better than talk to Jesus about everything that's going on. It can be relaxing too.
Well, there you have it! 20 activities for 20 year olds! Have Fun!
God Bless
