What I've Learned in College 2

Once again, I have written a list of things that I've learned in college that is not discussed even though they need to be.

1. Coffee in College
This past week I had Landscape Architecture which I ended up dozing off in, so the next class I knew I had to be would be awake, so I stopped by Starbucks and got a black coffee. Most people add something to their coffee, but I didn’t, so I felt very cool and adult like when I had mine. I drank it and wow, I was awake! My landscape Architecture class was fabulous, I was the only one who answered questions and I was so engaged! I took notes on my laptop (which I thought I’d need incase I got bored and wanted to shop.) and did fabulous! However, afterwards I had an awful headache the rest of the day and crashed, I was so tired. I thought to myself "This is probably what drugs feel like (Yes, I know coffee is a stimulant}" So, I went on with my day drowsy and with a hurt head. I don't know if I should continue drinking coffee or not, because my dad and aunt told me it doesn’t hurt for them, so I'm thinking I should build a resistance to the headache. But, I don't know because I felt sick later that day, so who knows if it was the coffee or a cold. Anyways, it would make my class right now easier to stay awake in.
2. My Rapping is not Appreciated. I recently learned that in college my karaoke rapping is not appreciated. I performed for people and was told I was just reading words. What? When I rap I make people feel and laugh because I don’t know what most of the words mean. I mean I have much more talent than a mumble rapper because I annunciate my words. It all began with Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You love Me.” When Big Sean rapped I was determined to know it. After lots of practice I did and can even rap it faster than Big Sean. Eventually during junior year I would perform and make everyone laugh. Senior year, I took it to a whole new level! My friend Hannah and I would stand on chairs or in front of the class with our objective talent rapping to our fans! I sang my own rendition of "Sweet Caroline" at the homecoming game. I rapped for most of my classes and impressed my classmates and teachers! Then, I saw that a group of boys made their own sound cloud group, I thought I can do that too. I made my own sound cloud song and was kind of featured on the student news network as the best musician of our generation. Some people like my song, but mostly I am not considered talented. Katherapper is no longer appreciated and is left to wallow in the once great concerts she had. If you want to hear my song you can find it here: https://soundcloud.com/user-674609125/first-semester-senior-year-last-six-weeks-red-dayyyy

3. Kooky Kumbucha
Kombucha is an incredibly healthy probiotic drink that lots of people enjoy, myself unincluded, and apparently you can make it! I learned this in one my classes as an ice breaker. We were asked what activity we would pursue if time or money were not a factor, obviously I'd golf more, but one of my group members said she'd get back into making kombucha. She explained that you begin with a lump of bacteria and put it in a jar. Through a ten day span vinegar and sugar is added in the dark. Then, it's finished, but apparently it tasted gross and has a lump at the bottom. She said she messed something up, and apparently, all of the bacteria comes from a big mother bacteria. Who knew you could make it!? 4. Making Friends is Hard Believe it or not I have had trouble making friends. I have always been wary of new situations and new people, so it has taken me a while to get accustomed. I don’t know I guess I just expect people to come to me or be the exact person I want, but it doesn’t work that way. With so many people its a lot of work to filter thtough everyone and choose the people worth being friends with. I have to be at my best all of the time! This semester I’ve really taken it in my hands to go out and be social! Just diving in and realizing I need to. 5. No One is Amused by What I Say I have also learned that I am not that funny. I will usually say something off-color and people ust don’t know what to do. In the past, I knew tthat I was saying something off color and most people laugh, ignore me, or be annoyed. It’s the same now pretty much, but Im really starting to realize maybe no one wants to hear me say off color things. So, that's what I've learned so far and many other things.

20 Activities for 20 year Olds

Good Morning Family and Friends! Recently I have been incredibly bored, hopefully my online classes will entertain me more. I have previously stated that I wasn’t practicing social distancing or whatever, however my mom has been making me stay inside more often and now Colorado is on lockdown. I looked up activities for 20 year olds and didn’t find anything, I guess people make these lists for stay at home moms with young children. So, I decided to make my own list for you, the audience, if you’re bored (which if you’re reading this you probably are) and looking for something to do. Read Woah, how original...read. I don’t read for pleasure often. In the summer I read The Great Gatsby  and I usually read one of Father Greg Boyle’s books some other time in the year. I also read my Vogue magazines. Two books and a magazine isn’t that much. However, since there is more time to do stuff, I figured I could read more. My brother gave me The Princess Bride to read, I’ve read a lit...

The Best Experience of my Young Life: Casa Bonita

I read an article by Westword that read if Disneyland and Tijuana had a baby and left it to fend for itself in a strip mall on Colfax, it’d be Casa Bonita. I finally got to experience this gem with some of my friends, Nai and Hannah, who have also been eager to try the restaurant out.       We pulled into the packed parking lot of Casa Bonita that stood in the same shopping complex as two dollar stores and a kids dental office next door. People surrounded the outside as the fountain splashed and I took photos as rapidly as a mom on Christmas morning. This was it, the best of themed dining experiences. We entered into a very confusing entryway and found the line, but first we stopped by the bathroom, which happened to be very nice. We stood in the red velvet roped line with other epicures, such as ourselves, waiting to order at the register. The line was dark, but illuminated by Corona neons, a sign with the words “Easto Much, Peso Little”, a vi...

Things I've Found on the Ground

Family and friends, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It has been a while since I've published a blog post, but after audience interest in the rekindling of the blog here I am at the 11th hour to ensure a numerical year doesn't go by without a post. I guess I've been gone because I've been busy or less inspired…I don't know. Anyways, for the past two years (and some months) I’ve taken pictures of things I find on the ground, some of  them are amusing, so I’ve decided to share some and write little stories for each. So, please enjoy a small collection of photos and commentary of things I’ve found on the ground.  Making Love in a Hopeless Place Where: Walmart Parking Lot When: December What: An Open Condom Wrapper Can anyone imagine a more romantic place to cement your love than a Walmart parking lot. I surely can't. Forget fireworks you have the rustle of your grocery bags in the back seat. Meanwhile the cold midnight air wafts in through your cracked windows a...
