Bachelor Recap: Season 25, Episodes 1 and 2

Good Morning! The Darcy household is excited because the Bachelor is finally back on! This season we have Matt James looking for love and wrangling adult women. The first two episodes have already aired and I'd like to give you a recap of each and continue to do so week after week! Before we continue I'd like to mention that I reorganized my blog! This season our bachelor is Matt James, an outsider to The Bachelor franchise. Since Matt isn't from the franchise he seems like he has a life outside of Instagram and is a genuine kind man. He's a realtor in New York City, so he likely lives in a shoebox. He's originally from South Carolina and comes from a mixed and broken family. He's also a Christian and even opened up the first night with a prayer, a first for the franchise. He is 28 years old. Overall, I think he's going to be a fabulous bachelor since he was a real personality and a real job, unlike Colton, Arie (who was riding on his father's Nascar coat tail), Mr. Viall, and more. 

Episode 1

During the first episode we get to meet 30 lucky ladies! These are somewhat in chronological order. 

First off we have Alicia! Alicia is from New York City and works as a "ballerina" and a ballet instructor, which makes more sense. She gets out of the limo and wobbles over to meet Matt and go up the red stairs.  We don’t really see that much of her the rest of the episode, probably because she didn’t get a rose. Bye F-Alicia!

Second, is Abigail! Abigail is in finance, I think. She also is deaf and has a special implant in order to hear. I think she's gonna lose her hearing aid or someone is going to take it. Abigail is from Oregon. She received the first impression rose, so statistically she’s going to last a long time.

Third, is Kristin, who works as an attorney! In her introduction video she is shown jumping on her bed. She also likes drinking and Cardi B! However, a Twitter thread started by a former college classmate explains that Kristin helped keep her from dating a man whom wanted to cheat on his wife!

Fourth, we have Magi! Magi is from Ethiopia and came to America to get her doctorate in pharmaceuticals. She's very pretty and seems incredibly kind, however I think the other girls will be mean to her. She's also our oldest contestant 32. I think she will last a long time though. 

Fifth is Anna! Anna is a copywriter by day and bartender by night! In other terms, she's not working right now, hopefully she has money saved from the bar! When meeting Matt she gives him a survival kit. I think she'll be fun. 

Sixth is Sarah! Sarah is a former broadcast journalist who took time to care for her father who has ALS. So, I'll give her a pass for not having a job. In her broadcast clip she says "Turn Around, Don't Drown," which I thought was funny. Also, I did find out she used to be G-Easy's "Mystery Woman." So, I wonder what she does to know him. 

Seventh is Bri, who does something in communication. She also doesn't have a father similar to Matt.

Eighth, we have Rachael. She does something in graphic design. I think she cried after the prayer too, which is okay. She's from Georgia. 

Ninth is Jessenia! Jessenia is a social media marketer and is looking for a rock! 

Chelsea is tenth! Chelsea is also from New York City and works as a runway model. I think she probably has the most legit modeling career from anyone in the franchise, just because she looks like she has the height and bone structure. I think she's here to expand her career. 

Eleventh is Mari! Mari took Matt's breath away when she came from the limo! I thought she was gonna be a future mob wife because she looked Italian, but I guess she's Puerto Rican! I think she might be a crazy girl this season. Also, she looks way more mature than the 24 year olds I know.

Twelfth is Carolyn! She brings lavender to Matt for some reason. Whatever, she leaves on the first episode.

Thirteenth is Sydney! Don't remember much about Sydney.

Khaylah is Fourteenth! She's a health care advocate, which I don't know what that means. Matt seems to really like Khaylah! 

Fifteenth is Serena C. Serena is a flight attendant, so she's been out of work since March. She did accidently trip up the stairs to see Matt. She seems fun though and not too mean.

Sixteenth, we have Saneh! Saneh is "from Denver" and works in the I.T. department. She unfortunately doesn't recieve a rose.

Seventeenth is Kaili, prounced Kylie, as in Jenner! Kaili makes a statement by showing up in her underwear! Gasp, because everyone is so modestly dressed here! She let's Matt choose the dress she's going to wear! Also, she is a waitress, she too has been out of work since March.

Eighteenth is Corinne! Corinne is in marketing. I don't know anything else about her.

Nineteenth, we have Marylynn! Poor Marylynn seems very kind, but unfortunately becomes a victim to Victoria's bullying. 

Next up our twentith contestant is Emani! She's a realtor from Albuquerque. Like me she has dance parties alone. She goes home the first night.

Twenty-first is Lauren! She's also an attorney, which is a real job! 

Pieper is twenty-second! She's also a grad student! She has such fun hair too!

MJ is next up as the twenty-third! MJ has such pretty hair! It's so voluptous and curly! She also seems fun to be friends with!

Twenty-fourth is lonely Katie! Katie walks out of the limo and explains she's going to give Matt something very personal to her and she's spent a lot of time with! She shows Matt a vibrator! At least she has a sense of humor! However, she does start to be annoying by poking people with it. Also, she does look like Vanessa Bayer.

Kimberly is twenty-fifth! Kim wants a man who is passionate about his career and hers!

Twenty-sixth up is Casandra! Casandra shows up in a football jersey, alluding to Matt's college football career at Wake Forest. 

Ileana is Twenty-Seventh! She's a health food developer, so she probably makes recipes. Also, she used to be on a synchronized skating team.

Twenty-Eighth, we meet 21 year old Kit, so she's certainly ready for marriage! Kit arrives in a wonderful, feather adorned mini dress! We discover she's in the fashion industry! At one point she gets upset as Victoria calls her "princess" and proceeds to tell the other girls she's the "the boss, the CEO, and the president!" I thought "Kit, you're a fashion major in New York City, you're not going to become a CEO or boss!"  My mistake, she is fashion designer, Cynthia Rowley's daughter, so she'll probably do very well in fashion! This is also probably how she got on the show. It's fun to think that while every other girl is wearing a Forever 21 "gown", her dress is likely $2000. She's even made a bit of a name for herself prior to the show and seems to be in the same circles as Kaia Gerber! I will say I don't think she's here for the right reasons.

Queen Victoria is Twenty-Ninth. Instead of a Limo she enters on a chair carried by four men! She introduces herself as a Queen, so she likely doesn't have a job. Victoria is kind of annoying and keeps bringing up how she wasn't in a sorority, GDI. 

Amber is thirtieth! She's really pale and a bottle blonde, that's all you need to know.

Thirty-first is Alana. I don't remember much about her.

Thirty-second is Serena P! Serena seems very kind, although she's 22! Is she ready for marriage?

The rest of the night went on like it normally does. We had some stealing, complaining about not getting enough time about him, some bickering, and some poking people with a dildo. Same old, same old. Matt spoke with Abigail about being deaf and really saw something with her, so she received the first impression rose. Then, came the rose ceremony where multiple women left.

The women who didn't recieve a rose were: Alicia, Amber, Carolyn, Casandra, Corrine, Emani, Kimberly, and Saneh.

My top four are Abigail, Bri, Khaylah, and Sarah

Episode 2

Matt went on two one-on-one dates this episode! First with Bri, then with Sarah.

Matt let out his "adventurous" side with Bri by riding around in ATVs! They eventually came across a mud puzzle and began riding in around in circles in the mud. Both got very dirty and when on the same ATV fell off the ATV. I think Bri was secretly mad about getting so muddy. Then, they each got cleaned up, drank champagne in a hot tub, and talked about their broken families. My family and I like how Matt asks real questions not shallow ones. Bri received a rose that night!

For the group date all of the girls got dressed up in wedding gowns and proceeded to take wedding photos with Matt. Miss Victoria butted in during one girl's session, which was very rude. Victoria is certainly one of the villains this season. I also noticed Matt didn't really seem to enjoy taking pictures with her. Then, Chris announced it was time to play Capture the Flag in their wedding dresses, while splattering paint on one another. The girls cut up their gowns, created game plans, and ran around! MJ and Mari both did really well in the game. The winning team got to have a night out with Matt. Thankfully, he wasn't like "You all played well, you can all hang out with me!" He had a nice conversation with Khaylah though!

Then, Matt had a one-on-one date with Sarah. The two went flying on a open seat plane, like they were strapped in with no roof over them. However, they didn't seem to enjoy the flight as it was really windy and didn't have goggles. I thought it was weird they didn't have goggles. Then, they had dinner together and Sarah was vulnerable with Matt and told him something she's never told anyone! Her dad has ALS and has weeks to live. First off, why are you here Sarah? Second, you've never been this vulnerable to someone in your own life? If so that is sad she doesn't have anyone in her life to trust besides some man she met a week ago. Hopefully, she means she hasn't told anyone in the house. 

Finally, the cocktail party happened! I think it well. The usual stealing and all went on. Victoria was mean to Marylynn and blamed her for something, so Vicky told Matt. The, Matt talked to Marylynn about the drama with Vicky. Ultimately he believed Vicky because Marylynn got kicked off. Eventually, the rose ceremony occurred, but Sarah passed out! Then, the episode ended for was to be continued! Spoiler, she's fine.
