Bachelor Recap: Season 25, Episodes 3 and 4

These past couple of episodes were drama filled, probably similar to Queen Vicky's night when she got arrested for stealing cosmetics. We got to see girls interrupt other's dates, some nasty sexual fantasy stories, and some MEAN GIRLZZ.

Episode 3
Last week, we began with Sarah fainting during the rose ceremony. Both Matt and the paramedics helped her get back on her feet, while the other girls accused her of trying to get attention. The rose ceremony continued and Marylynn, who was a victim of Vicky's, was kicked off as Matt seemed to believe Vicky instead of Marylynn.
For last week's group date Chris Harrison advertised his newest grocery store romance novel and encouraged the girls to write their own fantasy romance novels. After being given some time to write, Matt shared his story first. Matt wrote about the edge of a woman's suit and hairline, I didn't understand that part, and he wrote about chocolate cake. There were some odd features to these stories. Bri described cold earth and hard muscles. Serena C talked about how what every man was lacking Matt was packing (I guess other men don't pack suitcases well.) While other girls spoke about Matt's long, thick legs. And some left a lot to the imagination as every other word was bleeped. In middle school I turned in a poem somewhat similar to these girls', however mine went more like this: "His braces shined in the fluorescent light." Honestly, this was probably one of the best group dates the franchise has ever done. Later that night was the cocktail party where he gave two big smooches, first to Rachael. Matt was then talking to Katie, but then Sarah who was not on the group date decided to walk to the group date and talk to Matt. Sarah steals Matt from Katie and they talk because Sarah is desperate for attention as she's uncomfortable with Matt getting to know other girls. Katie then asks for some time with Matt as Sarah isn't even supposed to be there. She leaves, but not without a huge smooch from Matt behind a screen. Katie then tells the other girls what happened and suddenly everyone turns on Sarah. Vicky goes after her to talk and confirms that her and Sarah have a "good" relationship despite bullying her. Finally, Sarah goes home.
The next day all girls gather together and gossip about Sarah as they are pissed with her. Matt comes over to take Serena P on a date, but first he has to talk to Sarah, who is lonely in her room. Matt pounces on Sarah while she's sitting. They talk and he's very touchy with her. I thought Matt and Sarah really had a good connection. Later, Matt and Serena P go horseback riding. Serena is very comfortable on a horse and we learn Matt had comforting pet turtles growing up. They ended up having a picnic that was interrupted by a cute burrow. They were cute together. Meanwhile, Sarah was cooped in her room all day and everyone just kept waiting for her to come out to say rude things about her. Some of the girls' comments were: "I don't miss her" said Kit; Vicky said "Sarah doesn't need Matt she needs a Xanax." However, when Sarah hears a date card has arrived she comes running. Unfortunately, it wasn't for her and she tried to apologize to everyone for ruining Katie's time with Matt. She also goes on to talk about how she wanted to leave. Honestly, I don't know why she brought that up. No one wants her there and with less girls they get more time with Matt. Anyways, these girls go wild on her! Vicky continues to interrupt her and questions why she would want to make amends with her. They even threaten her by saying her living situation is going to be hard from now on. Sarah goes back to her room. Then, Katie, who Sarah stole Matt from entered Sarah's room to talk to her. Sarah and Katie have a heart to heart conversation about how hard it was for Sarah to be on The Bachelor since her father has ALS and weeks to live. Katie talks about her own father's death and how she regrets not being there when he died. Katie relays to everyone how we never know what someone is going through. Eventually, Sarah decides to leave to be with her family. I thought Matt and Sarah really liked each other, so that's a bummer.

Episode 4
Last night's episode was filled with mean, bitchy girls. There are very few who seem genuinely nice. I think Katie and Magi are both kind girls as they don't attack anyone. Majority of the others can be very rude. The episode began with Vicky bashing Sarah because Vicky thinks Sarah left because it got too hard. However, Katie defends Sarah as she's not even there anymore, so there's no reason to be mean. Vicky doesn't like this as Katie is limiting Vicky's "self expression." Anyways, the end of a group date for last week continued. Chelsea told Matt about the experience of having non-European hair as she had it chemically straightened it since she was 2! Honestly, this really opened my eyes up to what people with non-European hair experience. Chelsea ended up receiving the group rose.
The following night was the rose ceremony and cocktail party. All was going well, Matt was talking with the ladies and asked some great questions. Vicky was even wearing a cute jacket! However, the tables turned as five new girls arrived! We met:

Brittany
Britt came in with a bang as she made out with Matt and told Vicky that the producers "were saving the best for last!" She's a model in Chicago.

Michelle
Michelle came out wearing a wonderful black sequined dress. She's a teacher and immediately hit it off with Matt.
Ryan
Ryan is a dancer, that's all I know.

Kim
Next we meet Kim who's an ICU nurse, which begs the question, shouldn't she be at work with the Coronavirus?

Catalina
Miss Puerto Rico Universe (the Trump sponsored beauty pageant) arrives and seems very kind. She also wears a lot less makeup than the other girls. Also, why are there so many pageant girls in the franchise? If you win a pageant you have that job for a year, so what is their job now?

Well, everyone was pissed that there were new girls! Everyone was worried that Matt would view the new girls as new toys or new candy, which is kind of sad they think they're just candy. Queen Vick introduced herself to Catalina and proceeded to take her crown and wear it. Catalina was shocked, but continued to be kind to Vicky. Anna was especially mad and befriended Vicky to gossip about the new girls. That night Kim, Khaylah, and Kaili were kicked off. I was kind of surprised about Khaylah I thought she and Matt had good conversations.
Anyways, the next day Katie was kind enough to get to know the new girls and talk to them. Way to go Katie! Later that day the women go on a group date. They do an obstacle course which includes kayaking in hollowed out pumpkins, which seemed really fun, and searching for acorns in squirrel outfits! I think Mari won again, but unfortunately Magi got stuck in the water. At the cocktail party Anna decided to talk about Brittany to Vicky! Anna and Brittany are both from Chicago and has heard that Brittany is an escort and entertains wealthy men for money. However, Anna is a bartender at night, so she also entertains men for money, so I don't get the issue. Apparently, Brittany also reportedly did bottle service, but that's also very similar to bartending in that your selling alcohol and flirting with who your serving in order to earn more tips. Anna even outed Britt in front of the whole group. Britt denied it and claimed she's had a boyfriend this whole time. I will say I think you could still have a boyfriend while being an escort. Then, the night ended.
The next day Matt went on a date with Michelle. I think they're good together and I think she's going to win! For their date they went on a tethered hot air balloon.
Then, there was a group date where the women boxed with one another. The women met Matt where he was working out in the trees. I imagine that was what my dad's gym class looked like growing up. There were some girls who looked like they had fought before. I mean there were some nice hits. Eventually Matt stopped it because it seemed too dangerous. That night, the girls were being RUDE to the new girls and spewing all sorts of rumors. Vicky, Anna, MJ, and others were especially cruel. I think matt would be appalled to see this. Katie went to tell Matt what happened, as the girls would listen to him, without saying names or giving too much detail as not to gossip. Thankfully, both Katie and Matt realize this show isn't the end of the road for anyone as the rumors could hurt people and their lives. In the preview, Matt goes on to say that "if you have to belittle others to shine, these qualities aren't what I'm looking for in a wife." The episode ended with a snippet of Matt dancing for Magi. It was funny.

Anyways, thanks for reading. There was a lot to summarize! God Bless!

20 Activities for 20 year Olds

Good Morning Family and Friends! Recently I have been incredibly bored, hopefully my online classes will entertain me more. I have previously stated that I wasn’t practicing social distancing or whatever, however my mom has been making me stay inside more often and now Colorado is on lockdown. I looked up activities for 20 year olds and didn’t find anything, I guess people make these lists for stay at home moms with young children. So, I decided to make my own list for you, the audience, if you’re bored (which if you’re reading this you probably are) and looking for something to do. Read Woah, how original...read. I don’t read for pleasure often. In the summer I read The Great Gatsby  and I usually read one of Father Greg Boyle’s books some other time in the year. I also read my Vogue magazines. Two books and a magazine isn’t that much. However, since there is more time to do stuff, I figured I could read more. My brother gave me The Princess Bride to read, I’ve read a lit...

What I've Learned in College: End of Freshman Year Fun part 2

Continued from Part 1 8.Cowboys are Real Cowboys are typically seen as people who used to live in the Wild West years and years ago. I honestly think that my grandfather was one of the last American cowboys. While, I wills till continue to this this, I have learned that cowboys are still real! Every once in a while, I will see an old man sporting leather cowboy boots, a blue pair of Wrangler jeans, a button down shirt, a weathered, leather belt, a leather vest, a cowboy hat, a grown out beard, and skin weathered and tan like the leather. I didn’t think people still dressed like this besides for show! This is someone’s real life outfit! I am always astonished to see people like this because I don’t see them regularly. They look like their straight off a horse in ye old west! Students even wear cowboy boots daily! It’s something else. 9. People still pressure you. I don't drink for multiple reasons, and I was under the impression that people don't pressure people i...

Guest Post: Boys, Friendships, and Knowing who You are by Harriet Alove

I invited a close friend of mine to write a post about whatever she desired. Harriet Alove (pen name) reflects on boys and finding who she is while in college.  ------------------------------             Much like Katherine since I have been at college I have noticed a lot of new different things. I am no longer coddled by the Jesuits, no more Kairos, no more of my sisters passing me in the hallways while I’m having a meltdown during class and having them sit and talk with me ‘till I feel better. Going to one of the largest state universities in the country has truly shell shocked me. Having ‘theology of the body’ as the most of a sex ed class I’ve had, to oddly having more knowledge about Myer’s Briggs types thanks to Mr. Cook’s junior theology. However, what has shocked me the most is how lost I have felt about myself. I’m no longer a swimmer, a good old Catholic girl going to ...
