National Sibling Day!

The other day was National Sibling Day, so I thought I’d share 10 reasons why I love my brother, Lance!
  • We HEART the Bachelor
    • We first discovered the Bachelor during Mr. Viall’s season, but it wasn’t really our taste, but the next year (Ari’s Season)  after learning that all our friends watched it, we gave it a go! We have been hooked since! We have a week to week bracket (which Lance always wins for some reason), watch parties and have learned all about it! I enjoy watching the Bachelor for so many reasons, but mostly because I get to talk about it with my family (which includes Lance). This past season was the most wild yet with Demi’s mom in prison for a white collar crime, all of the dads visibly not wanting to give their blessing to Colton in case his other three girlfriends don’t work out, Colton hopping a fence, and losing his virginity (the whole plot of this past season)! Although we were bummed because Colton looks too “Hollywood” now and we’re bummed because Cassie won, as it threw off our brackets (Hannah G. for the win), but we are excited for Hannah Alabama’s season this summer!
  • Big Plans, Big Plans, I say!
    • Something Lance and I enjoy doing is making plans, specifically for future restaurants. We have thought of Ice Cream stores, Italian (even though we’re Irish), and more. We begin these great ideas, but in a couple of days, while I’m still on board, Lance is like I don’t think it’ll work out. Then, we’re on to a new idea.
  • Never Say Never
    • Lance doesn’t give up easily and constantly tries his hardest for things he cares about. This past year Lance has been involved with theater and has enjoyed it immensely even earning himself a spot in the play! This is also seen in the classes he enjoys.
  • Bon Appetite
    • Lance is a fabulous chef! He is always making recipes he finds. Some of his best works include a dutch oven lasagna and a skillet cookie. `
  • Laughing Lance and Katherine
    • Lance is always making me laugh! He says the silliest things, especially if I say something silly. We’re like gas pumps in how if one of is is empty on laughter the other fills the other up!
  • Lance is Caring
    • Lance also is very caring and is always there for those he loves.
  • Intellectually Competent
    • Lance is very smart whether he applies himself or not. I am always impressed by his determination to do work and hope to succeed like he will!
  • An Artist
    • Recently, Lance has been getting involved with art! He mainly does graphic stuff and has even had work displayed in the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art. While, our family doesn't understand his work it is very impressive what he can do!
  • Like a Fine Cheese
    • Lance is also incredibly mature and always knows how to act in a stressful situations. he understand why things happen and won't pout over trivial things. I could learn a thing or two from him.
  • Grow
    • Lance is always interested in continuous growth as well. Whether it is taking on a fun new situation or the next best tep in life, Lance always takes an opportunity to grow and test himself.
  • Ow
    • I also thank Lance for my talent of winking with boys eyes. I have bee able to wink my my right eye before, but not my left. One day Lance wanted to do a handstand and I spotted him. Lance ended up kicking my eye leaving me with a bruise, but ever since I can wink my left eye too!
There it is, things I admire and love about Lance! I hope everyone can appreciate their siblings and how together siblings build each other up as forever friends.

God Bless!

20 Activities for 20 year Olds

Good Morning Family and Friends! Recently I have been incredibly bored, hopefully my online classes will entertain me more. I have previously stated that I wasn’t practicing social distancing or whatever, however my mom has been making me stay inside more often and now Colorado is on lockdown. I looked up activities for 20 year olds and didn’t find anything, I guess people make these lists for stay at home moms with young children. So, I decided to make my own list for you, the audience, if you’re bored (which if you’re reading this you probably are) and looking for something to do. Read Woah, how original...read. I don’t read for pleasure often. In the summer I read The Great Gatsby  and I usually read one of Father Greg Boyle’s books some other time in the year. I also read my Vogue magazines. Two books and a magazine isn’t that much. However, since there is more time to do stuff, I figured I could read more. My brother gave me The Princess Bride to read, I’ve read a lit...

Major Life Advice

Recently during class I was giving an acquaintance/friend advice after being asked "How am I so happy?" and another acquaintance/friend wanted me to begin as she thought this was very important. Today I want to share part of a book (google doc) that I've been writing throughout the years that is full of advice I have received and found. Today is the Best Day of My Life This may sound crazy, but it's true, everyday is the best day of your life because you never know when life will end. I learned this from my dad who even thought it was crazy when he heard it from his friend. This advice has helped me look at the positive in every day things. For example in high school I didn't enjoy waking up around 4 am for swim practice, but when I dad told me this advice, I started thinking about it began enjoying early mornings. How lucky was I to do what I love, be awake before anyone else, talk to my friends, and laugh endlessly before the sun rose? So lucky and as ...

What I've Learned in College: End of Freshman Year Fun part 2

Continued from Part 1 8.Cowboys are Real Cowboys are typically seen as people who used to live in the Wild West years and years ago. I honestly think that my grandfather was one of the last American cowboys. While, I wills till continue to this this, I have learned that cowboys are still real! Every once in a while, I will see an old man sporting leather cowboy boots, a blue pair of Wrangler jeans, a button down shirt, a weathered, leather belt, a leather vest, a cowboy hat, a grown out beard, and skin weathered and tan like the leather. I didn’t think people still dressed like this besides for show! This is someone’s real life outfit! I am always astonished to see people like this because I don’t see them regularly. They look like their straight off a horse in ye old west! Students even wear cowboy boots daily! It’s something else. 9. People still pressure you. I don't drink for multiple reasons, and I was under the impression that people don't pressure people i...
