The Best Podcasts You Haven't Heard

Podcasts are poppin' right now. People love to listen to people talk and people love to hear themselves talk, thus podcasts are created. So many people have begun podcasts, even I have tried to do a podcast, but I didn’t think it was very good. So, with podcasts being so popular I thought I’d list some podcasts that I enjoy. These are relatively small podcasts compared to Joe Rogan’s and anything related to crime, but that is no issue as these are just as educational and entertaining (probably, I don’t listen to crime podcasts as I get too scared and I don’t actually know who Joe Rogan is).

The Catholic Feminist Podcast

I also enjoy The Catholic Feminist Podcast. I love this podcast because it's so educational, interesting, and helps me understand and open my eyes to Catholic stances and stories on social justice and other topics! It's super welcoming, non judgmental, and a podcast where it's okay to ask questions and not know everything. Despite the name, I truly think so many people would enjoy the podcast and learn so much from Claire and her guests. They often discuss social justices issues such as the Catholic sex abuse scandal, abortion, race, immigration, the death penalty, adoption, birth control, marriage, money, your vocation, law, and so much more! Usually the interviews are with women discussing topics that the guest is experiencing or works in. They also talk about how the guests got into their career/vocation, what the Catholic Church thinks, what the truth is, and where they see God in their life. I find many of their careers, stories, and perspectives fascinating and important to learn about. Seriously, check it out! It's very informative and only like forty minutes long! Plus, I typically only rave about things that are very helpful and I love!
One of my favorite episodes is with Marcia Lane-McGee. I like how Marcia and Claire discuss Marcia's career and how she got to become her son's confirmation sponsor! Plus, Marcia is a very vibrant person! Here's the link for this one: https://www.thecatholicfeministpodcast.com/shownotes/marcia
I also like this episode with Sarah Tramonte as it is SO important and informative! I learned so much and think so many people could benefit from listening. Here's the link for that one: https://www.thecatholicfeministpodcast.com/shownotes/saraht

Oh Hello: The P'dcast

You might've heard of Oh Hello, since it's created by Mulaney and Kroll. However, I feel like it's not as popular as other podcasts, so I still added it. It's a continuation of the Broadway play/musical/comedy show, Oh Hello! It's just these two old geezers, George St. Geegland and Gil Faizon, discussing Princess Diana and announcing their "sponsorships." They often have guests on, such as Lin Manual-Miranda, and connect their lives with Princess Di's. Sometimes, they don't even talk about Princess Di.
My favorite episodes are "That's Your Funeral" and "Boy for Sale." In "That's Your Funeral" they talk with some guy about Princess Di conspiracy theories like how maybe the Queen was at the wreck disguised as a dog. The link for that is: https://ohhello.simplecast.com/episodes/thatsyourfuneral .
I also love "Boy for Sale" which features Pete Davidson (Yay!) and they talk about Pete's connection Princess Di and his advice for the royal family. That link is here: https://ohhello.simplecast.com/episodes/boy-for-sale

Ghostrunners Podcast

My absolute favorite is the Ghostrunners Podcast! It’s literally just two men in their late twenties shooting the breeze. I don't know why I enjoy it so much, probably because I also enjoy talking about nothing. I think the stories they tell about their lives are entertaining, clean, lighthearted, and silly. I like how their jokes and stories go over multiple episodes. I don't know why they're even called The Ghostrunners, but I think it has something to do with baseball. Their episodes are around an hour and a half, so they're fun to listen to when doing schoolwork. I really do recommend this podcast I just like listening to them. They're also on youtube!
It's hard to choose a favorite episode because I like parts of different episodes, but pretty much any episode you'll choose will be good. The newest one is a good one to start with. They talk about kissing and telling the boys, 18 wheeler carwashes, and laugh about Amish music. Here's the link: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/amish-jams/id1463229926?i=1000492779024

Well, there you go. A few podcasts that not everyone is listening to, but needs to listen to! Also none of these photos are mine! God Bless!

20 Activities for 20 year Olds

Good Morning Family and Friends! Recently I have been incredibly bored, hopefully my online classes will entertain me more. I have previously stated that I wasn’t practicing social distancing or whatever, however my mom has been making me stay inside more often and now Colorado is on lockdown. I looked up activities for 20 year olds and didn’t find anything, I guess people make these lists for stay at home moms with young children. So, I decided to make my own list for you, the audience, if you’re bored (which if you’re reading this you probably are) and looking for something to do. Read Woah, how original...read. I don’t read for pleasure often. In the summer I read The Great Gatsby  and I usually read one of Father Greg Boyle’s books some other time in the year. I also read my Vogue magazines. Two books and a magazine isn’t that much. However, since there is more time to do stuff, I figured I could read more. My brother gave me The Princess Bride to read, I’ve read a lit...

The Best Experience of my Young Life: Casa Bonita

I read an article by Westword that read if Disneyland and Tijuana had a baby and left it to fend for itself in a strip mall on Colfax, it’d be Casa Bonita. I finally got to experience this gem with some of my friends, Nai and Hannah, who have also been eager to try the restaurant out.       We pulled into the packed parking lot of Casa Bonita that stood in the same shopping complex as two dollar stores and a kids dental office next door. People surrounded the outside as the fountain splashed and I took photos as rapidly as a mom on Christmas morning. This was it, the best of themed dining experiences. We entered into a very confusing entryway and found the line, but first we stopped by the bathroom, which happened to be very nice. We stood in the red velvet roped line with other epicures, such as ourselves, waiting to order at the register. The line was dark, but illuminated by Corona neons, a sign with the words “Easto Much, Peso Little”, a vi...

Things I've Found on the Ground

Family and friends, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It has been a while since I've published a blog post, but after audience interest in the rekindling of the blog here I am at the 11th hour to ensure a numerical year doesn't go by without a post. I guess I've been gone because I've been busy or less inspired…I don't know. Anyways, for the past two years (and some months) I’ve taken pictures of things I find on the ground, some of  them are amusing, so I’ve decided to share some and write little stories for each. So, please enjoy a small collection of photos and commentary of things I’ve found on the ground.  Making Love in a Hopeless Place Where: Walmart Parking Lot When: December What: An Open Condom Wrapper Can anyone imagine a more romantic place to cement your love than a Walmart parking lot. I surely can't. Forget fireworks you have the rustle of your grocery bags in the back seat. Meanwhile the cold midnight air wafts in through your cracked windows a...
