18 going on 88

Since I have begun college I have found myself with a lot of time on my hands and I think I am turning in to an 80 year old.

One day, I didn’t think I had anything to do, so I took the time to get the newspaper and do the crossword puzzle. I’ve always enjoyed crossword puzzles, but have never had the time to do them. I usually do a crossword a day. It keeps the mind young.

I’ve also taken up solitaire.

I also have been into bird watching (I can identify Canadian Goose and Duck). I like to walk by the pond and watch the geese and ducks. I like to name them too. Usually, the names are Quacktherine and Duckstin Bieber.

I’ve told my therapist about this and he said that I’m doing better than most people. I’m not drinking, or doing drugs, or anything. So, that’s good.

Well, good night, its 5:30 and time for me to go to sleep!

What I've Learned in College: End of Freshman Year Fun part 2

Continued from Part 1 8.Cowboys are Real Cowboys are typically seen as people who used to live in the Wild West years and years ago. I honestly think that my grandfather was one of the last American cowboys. While, I wills till continue to this this, I have learned that cowboys are still real! Every once in a while, I will see an old man sporting leather cowboy boots, a blue pair of Wrangler jeans, a button down shirt, a weathered, leather belt, a leather vest, a cowboy hat, a grown out beard, and skin weathered and tan like the leather. I didn’t think people still dressed like this besides for show! This is someone’s real life outfit! I am always astonished to see people like this because I don’t see them regularly. They look like their straight off a horse in ye old west! Students even wear cowboy boots daily! It’s something else. 9. People still pressure you. I don't drink for multiple reasons, and I was under the impression that people don't pressure people i...

Major Life Advice

Recently during class I was giving an acquaintance/friend advice after being asked "How am I so happy?" and another acquaintance/friend wanted me to begin as she thought this was very important. Today I want to share part of a book (google doc) that I've been writing throughout the years that is full of advice I have received and found. Today is the Best Day of My Life This may sound crazy, but it's true, everyday is the best day of your life because you never know when life will end. I learned this from my dad who even thought it was crazy when he heard it from his friend. This advice has helped me look at the positive in every day things. For example in high school I didn't enjoy waking up around 4 am for swim practice, but when I dad told me this advice, I started thinking about it began enjoying early mornings. How lucky was I to do what I love, be awake before anyone else, talk to my friends, and laugh endlessly before the sun rose? So lucky and as ...

How I Know I’m Getting Older

Family, f riends, and reader(s?),       Good afternoon and I hope this blog post finds you fabulous! It finds me writing outside of a coffee shop during my day off while a stranger sits ten feet away on a Teams Call with her dog next to her. Anyways, it’s been nearly two and a half years since my last post. What have I been up to? A lot. I graduated, got a job, was scared by a man in the dark on the eve of the 2024 Rocky Mountain Showdown and scraped my limbs leading to a permanent (I hope) scar on my left hand in, roughly, the shape of America, and I made more friends. I make myself giggle. Regarding the status of  The Katherine Kazette,  I don’t know if I’m going to post more often now or not, but I do need more creative outlets since graduating. I wonder if I should transfer my blog to substack. I should probably visit their website first. Also, I did use AI for the very cool anamorphs inspired image of me becoming an old lady.       ...
