Bachelor Recap: Season 25 Episode 5

Good Morning! Last night we had a whirlwind of an episode! We had lots of fighting and snide comments galore! Let's get into it!

The episode began with some women taking a morning walk. Both pairs of the "original girls" and the "new girls" were incredibly rude by not even greeting each other in passing! Anyways, we cut to the rose ceremony. Matt addressed the toxic environment in the house and the rumors going around, which I admire about him. He said "If you have to belittle someone else to shine, I'm not looking for these qualities in a wife!" He treated these girls just like children, which is fine because he knew what he was doing and I think it helped! Matt and Anna talked and she expressed regret about bringing up that Brittany was a potential escort and denied a toxic house environment. Fortunately, he saw that Anna made a mistake and brought up how he's also said things he regrets, however he did send her home. I really liked that he brought up his own faults, as we have all said things we regret saying and often are quick to judge these Bachelor women. After Anna left the girls, as a group, discussed the toxic environment. Chelsea, Vicky, and MJ (some original girls) didn't think the house was toxic. Both Michelle and Catalina (new girls) talked about feeling disrespected. Suddenly, girls were oblivious and apologizing left and right! Even Queen Vicky apologized, I thought it was fake though. I think everyone apologized after seeing Matt kick off Anna for being rude. Then, Matt and Queen Vick talk with one another and he asks her the question, "when is it acceptable to call someone a hoe?" After that conversation Matt was ready for the rose ceremony. Queen Victoria though was buggin', she knew her time was up as she had been rude to those girls. She says, something of the like, to a producer "Ryan is the shadiest bitch. Literally, no one else can marry him. I'm the best one for him. I'm the only one here with a working brain." Then, he begins the ceremony. We discover that he kicks off Lauren, Catalina, Mari, and boop boop boop boop (it's a royal horn sound) Queen Victoria! Honestly, I was surprised Catalina and Mari were kicked off. Catalina seems very kind and Mari was a real team player! Vicky also kinda surprised me, usually the crazy ones stay on for longer, but maybe the producers gave Matt a go ahead and he didn't want any more drama. Also, her boob looked like it was about to fall out.

At the commercial break there was an ad for a new senior dating show. I wanna sign my grandma up. She's perfect for it! She's tall, skinny, pretty, has lots of hobbies, and is retired! I'm excited for that, I think she'll get it! Any who, Matt then took Rachael on a shopping date! Yay shopping! Rachael tries on some dresses and all. I really like the sequin orange mini dress she had on, it was fun. Matt then was dressed in an outfit with a belt (?) that looked very karate. She then was given a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes (and apparently to Ariana Grande happiness too!) by Matt, I mean ABC. Rachael was happy and stated she doesn't usually wear shoes more than $40! For me, that was the most surprising part of the episode! How do you only spend $40 on a pair of shoes!? Converse are $50, Sperry's are $95, and Uggs are $200! Anyways, Rachael looked really happy. She showed all the girls at the house and everyone loved the red bottoms, besides maybe Kit who might've thought "So? I have a bunch of those." Rachael then had dinner with Matt, while wearing a royal blue gown. They discussed their relationship and Rachael revealed she feels Matt is out of her league and that she's undeserving of love. I liked that Rachael brought that up because I feel like that sometimes too. However, Matt reassured her that he likes her too. They then left on a horse carriage! What a nice princessy day!

The next day was a group date at the farm! No one seemed excited to be there besides Matt and Michelle. The girls got to mucking and Matt thankfully did some work. MJ had to pick up the eggs from the chicken coop and was real uncomfortable with that. Then, during Pieper's talking head Matt came up and gave her a big ol' smooch right on her lips! He was enticed with Pieper! Thankfully, for the women the farm time ended and they were able to talk to Matt at the cocktail party. Chelsea expressed to him that she's uncomfortable talking to men, so Matt made it easier for her by pulling her aside first. Abigail then told Matt about the day and how her grandparents have a farm and invite her over, but she hasn't gone out to it, but now she understands what happens at a farm (that's kind of what she said, I took some creative liberties). Abigail then discussed growing up and how her dad walked out once her and her sister got their cochlear implants that allow them to hear. That's sad. I do wonder why he left after they could hear, like what was he doing? Matt then brings in MJ and discussed her toxic behavior, which she seemed surprised by because she "leads by example." Matt told her that she made the new girls feel uncomfortable and she got real defensive. She brought it up to the other girls and Jessenia said that MJ was the one who coined the term "JV vs Varsity" referring to the new girls and old girls. MJ was pissed and I hope she sees that she was rude. Anyhow, Jessenia and MJ start fighting and MJ is once again real defensive and deflects, according to Katie, as MJ feels attacked. The night ends.

The next day Kit has a date with Matt! She talked about it with Rachael and both girls seem genuinely nice. I think Kit and I would be friends if we ran in the same circles. Anyways, she and Matt cook together as Kit revealed she loves being in the kitchen with her mom, Cynthia Rowley. Kit didn't bring up her mom's name though, she not too much of a braggart. To the camera she said "My mom is a fashion designer, I grew up in the spotlight, a lot of my life is like gold Bentleys and red carpets and fashion events." How she grew up led to her putting up a lot of walls and not being in touch with her emotions. It seemed like a good date though, my mom thinks Matt isn't that into her. I would agree. She's there because of connections not love, which is fine as many people don't go there to find love. They love endorsements, they don't love love.

The episode is almost over! The next day is the cocktail party, but we only get to see the beginning. Matt asks Jessenia and MJ to talk to him prior to the ceremony. The girls walk in and just start arguing with one another. My favorite MJ quote was, something of the like, to "I have big hair, big hoop, big energy tonight!" Anyways, they argue about MJ's character and actions as Jessenia says "I see three sides of you. Who you are in the house, who you are with Matt, and who you are with the cameras off!" They looked like children. We do see a rose in the middle of the table. I think Matt will choose MJ over Jessenia as that's what the previews looked like, although Jessenia did get the first one on one. Anyways, that's it. I kind of like how the Bachelor is formatted with the rose ceremony in the beginning or middle instead of the end, that way we have to come back next week to know the end of the drama!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed it and remember to have "Big Hair, Big Hoop, Big Energy!" God Bless!

20 Activities for 20 year Olds

Good Morning Family and Friends! Recently I have been incredibly bored, hopefully my online classes will entertain me more. I have previously stated that I wasn’t practicing social distancing or whatever, however my mom has been making me stay inside more often and now Colorado is on lockdown. I looked up activities for 20 year olds and didn’t find anything, I guess people make these lists for stay at home moms with young children. So, I decided to make my own list for you, the audience, if you’re bored (which if you’re reading this you probably are) and looking for something to do. Read Woah, how original...read. I don’t read for pleasure often. In the summer I read The Great Gatsby  and I usually read one of Father Greg Boyle’s books some other time in the year. I also read my Vogue magazines. Two books and a magazine isn’t that much. However, since there is more time to do stuff, I figured I could read more. My brother gave me The Princess Bride to read, I’ve read a lit...

The Best Experience of my Young Life: Casa Bonita

I read an article by Westword that read if Disneyland and Tijuana had a baby and left it to fend for itself in a strip mall on Colfax, it’d be Casa Bonita. I finally got to experience this gem with some of my friends, Nai and Hannah, who have also been eager to try the restaurant out.       We pulled into the packed parking lot of Casa Bonita that stood in the same shopping complex as two dollar stores and a kids dental office next door. People surrounded the outside as the fountain splashed and I took photos as rapidly as a mom on Christmas morning. This was it, the best of themed dining experiences. We entered into a very confusing entryway and found the line, but first we stopped by the bathroom, which happened to be very nice. We stood in the red velvet roped line with other epicures, such as ourselves, waiting to order at the register. The line was dark, but illuminated by Corona neons, a sign with the words “Easto Much, Peso Little”, a vi...

Things I've Found on the Ground

Family and friends, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It has been a while since I've published a blog post, but after audience interest in the rekindling of the blog here I am at the 11th hour to ensure a numerical year doesn't go by without a post. I guess I've been gone because I've been busy or less inspired…I don't know. Anyways, for the past two years (and some months) I’ve taken pictures of things I find on the ground, some of  them are amusing, so I’ve decided to share some and write little stories for each. So, please enjoy a small collection of photos and commentary of things I’ve found on the ground.  Making Love in a Hopeless Place Where: Walmart Parking Lot When: December What: An Open Condom Wrapper Can anyone imagine a more romantic place to cement your love than a Walmart parking lot. I surely can't. Forget fireworks you have the rustle of your grocery bags in the back seat. Meanwhile the cold midnight air wafts in through your cracked windows a...
