A Review: April 2018

Parties Sparkled, Flowers Bloomed, and Golf Balls Zoomed in April.

Whole School Mass
In April I got to celebrate the final whole school mass of the year. This mass was so special as it was my last mass with the entire school. After the Eucharist was presented the choir sang everyone's favorite songs, "Reckless Love" and "Oceans!" It was so amazing because everyone was singing and looking at each other with lots of love! It was surreal, a very special moment to be in. I absolutely loved it! Later that day my friend and I took photos with the vivid blooming pink trees! They were gorgeous!

Prom
April means Prom, so obviously April was Prom. Prom is generally overrated, however it is fun!
This past year, I joined my friends and had a great time! We began the day by going to the nail salon and getting our nails painted. I had never been to a traditional nail salon before, so it was interesting. The nail technician put some weird hot rock on my arm which hurt, so she thankfully took it off. I also sat at the drying center for like an hour wondering when my nails would be dry meanwhile the other ladies popped over and left!
Afterwards we got lunch at Village Inn and went over to my friend's house. At her house we received a tour and just hung out with each other. She had a cute dinosaur and an adorable window seat! We had the weirdest conversation with her mom and her brother as he was leaving. We eventually ate dinner and got ready. I had my dress and my friends did my hair and makeup because I don't know how to do either. My friend's mom helped too and asked us all about boys! After hours of getting ready we were short on time and took a few pictures and zoomed! We arrived 40 minutes late, but the teachers all know us, so it was fine.
This past year the theme was The Great Gatsby! There weren't many decorations except a bar that was already at the venue. But, I loved hoping between people and saying hi to everyone! That's my favorite part because I had the most fun little conversations and everyone is sparkly and complimenting each other, you feel so loved! I danced too and had a ball even though the DJ was playing the same song. After an hour and a half it was over, so we headed to my other friend's house.
On the way to her house we stopped at King Soopers to get ice cream and snacks. We arrived at her house and watched movies. In the morning we ate ice cream for breakfast and did Table Topics, my favorite! I eventually got home from a fun day!

Golf
I golfed again with my alma mater and had fun! I actually was pretty good and had improved a lot! Golf is always fun for me! This year was much easier because my bag didn't weigh 30 pounds because of  shoes I forget in there. I enjoy golf which is interesting, because I know I'm not playing for a scholarship or anything, so I don't care very much about what happens. I saw a pheasant at one of the golf courses! I was so intrigued, I just wanted to see it more! I love riding on the golf carts too!

Friends
Even though the year was coming to an end, friendships did not! In classes and stuff I got to know much more about my classmates. We would giggle and tell stories to each other whether it was about awful proms, socialism, boys, and whatever else we could think of! Some of my favorite conversations happened in April and it was just so much fun talking!

Barbecue Bonanza!
At the end of senior year when about everyone has their college and life figured out there is a barbecue. We all wear our college shirts and bring baked goods while teachers cook! And of course, we take pictures!
Sisters by Chance, Friends by Chance

Dog the Coyote
We had a running joke in school about our decoy coyote, Dog and Martha the Goose, so I just thought it was funny when Dog the Coyote fell over and earlier I saw Martha on a box.

Poor Dog the Coyote!
Good Morning Martha!
April was amazing and everything was so fabulous!

20 Activities for 20 year Olds

Good Morning Family and Friends! Recently I have been incredibly bored, hopefully my online classes will entertain me more. I have previously stated that I wasn’t practicing social distancing or whatever, however my mom has been making me stay inside more often and now Colorado is on lockdown. I looked up activities for 20 year olds and didn’t find anything, I guess people make these lists for stay at home moms with young children. So, I decided to make my own list for you, the audience, if you’re bored (which if you’re reading this you probably are) and looking for something to do. Read Woah, how original...read. I don’t read for pleasure often. In the summer I read The Great Gatsby  and I usually read one of Father Greg Boyle’s books some other time in the year. I also read my Vogue magazines. Two books and a magazine isn’t that much. However, since there is more time to do stuff, I figured I could read more. My brother gave me The Princess Bride to read, I’ve read a lit...

The Best Experience of my Young Life: Casa Bonita

I read an article by Westword that read if Disneyland and Tijuana had a baby and left it to fend for itself in a strip mall on Colfax, it’d be Casa Bonita. I finally got to experience this gem with some of my friends, Nai and Hannah, who have also been eager to try the restaurant out.       We pulled into the packed parking lot of Casa Bonita that stood in the same shopping complex as two dollar stores and a kids dental office next door. People surrounded the outside as the fountain splashed and I took photos as rapidly as a mom on Christmas morning. This was it, the best of themed dining experiences. We entered into a very confusing entryway and found the line, but first we stopped by the bathroom, which happened to be very nice. We stood in the red velvet roped line with other epicures, such as ourselves, waiting to order at the register. The line was dark, but illuminated by Corona neons, a sign with the words “Easto Much, Peso Little”, a vi...

Things I've Found on the Ground

Family and friends, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It has been a while since I've published a blog post, but after audience interest in the rekindling of the blog here I am at the 11th hour to ensure a numerical year doesn't go by without a post. I guess I've been gone because I've been busy or less inspired…I don't know. Anyways, for the past two years (and some months) I’ve taken pictures of things I find on the ground, some of  them are amusing, so I’ve decided to share some and write little stories for each. So, please enjoy a small collection of photos and commentary of things I’ve found on the ground.  Making Love in a Hopeless Place Where: Walmart Parking Lot When: December What: An Open Condom Wrapper Can anyone imagine a more romantic place to cement your love than a Walmart parking lot. I surely can't. Forget fireworks you have the rustle of your grocery bags in the back seat. Meanwhile the cold midnight air wafts in through your cracked windows a...
