A Review: January 2018

As the end of year was yesterday, I will reflect on each of my month's in 2018! In this post I will go through the most fun moments in January! Breckenridge My family and I spent New Years Eve in Breckenridge. It was the busiest we’ve ever seen in Breckenridge, but it was fun seeing everyone walk down the streets with their colorful ski gear. Our hotel room faced the snow. While, we don’t ski, we did go shopping when we got fudge from Foote's Rest in Frisco. I also brought my #GetFloaty Giant Unicorn (No, it’s not sponsored, I’m not that cool) and we floated on it while the fireworks shot off. We made sure to see the Ice Castles. They had lights in icicles formed by water and artists. There was a maze, tight spaces underneath the ice to climb, a slide, and a fountain. I even saw my friend up there at Noodles and Co. Finally, my brother and I watched all the skiers on Peak 8. There was a big jump that was built for a ski competition, so it was cool to see that. Breck was good!

The most wonderful Moose Drool, Tiger Butter, and Toffee fudge from Foote's Rest!

My Brother and the fountain inside of the ice castles.
Every feature is made from ice that is formed by artists putting flowing hoses together, but I'm sure the triangles and base of the more elaborate features have wire or something.

BoCo Every year for my high school we swam in an invitational swim meet. This year was the Boulder County Swim Meet. It was an eight hour swim meet, but while they’re long, they are fun! I swam two or three events that day, hours apart. With my free time I stretched my splits and while doing so, I saw my friend from synchronized swimming in middle school which was fun so, we talked a bit during the meet. I also was in a relay and the heat in front of us was from a neighboring Christian school, so I was like we should say “‘Good Luck’ since their our sisters in Christ!” So, obviously we talked to the girls and cheered them on more than I did for my relay, and introduced ourselves. It was so fun because I made new friends and my coaches were laughing so much! My friends and I also goofed off and took lots of pictures. I didn’t have the best times, but I had lots of fun with my friends!
Snoball Our school’s Sadie Hawkins dance takes place in January or December depending on the year! This year was kind of fun because I went over to a friend's house and we played ping pong and all in her basement. We also had dinner. I wore a gold dress and my great grandmother’s mink coat. Many people liked the coat, so I was being pet all night. We went to the dance which is always fun and the t-shirts were uber cute! Then, my friends and I went to Sonic. It was a good night!

Touch Out My last high school swim meet was this past February and while I didn’t get the most fab times I had a great time! All of my team was there for only me and another girl. There was lots of dancing and singing! I was nervous for my last race, so the manager suggested that we look at each other scream for as long as we could, so we did! Then, I swam and got my first touch out! I was only a few inches ahead of another girl (hence the name touch out), but I won! That was incredible because that had never happened to me! It was a great last meet!
My "cool" rat tail I had braided before swimming.

Washington, D.C. I had the time of my life when I had the opportunity to attend the March for Life! I will go into it in a later post as it was fabulous!
January was fabulous! I had so much fun and traveled a lot! God Bless!

20 Activities for 20 year Olds

Good Morning Family and Friends! Recently I have been incredibly bored, hopefully my online classes will entertain me more. I have previously stated that I wasn’t practicing social distancing or whatever, however my mom has been making me stay inside more often and now Colorado is on lockdown. I looked up activities for 20 year olds and didn’t find anything, I guess people make these lists for stay at home moms with young children. So, I decided to make my own list for you, the audience, if you’re bored (which if you’re reading this you probably are) and looking for something to do. Read Woah, how original...read. I don’t read for pleasure often. In the summer I read The Great Gatsby  and I usually read one of Father Greg Boyle’s books some other time in the year. I also read my Vogue magazines. Two books and a magazine isn’t that much. However, since there is more time to do stuff, I figured I could read more. My brother gave me The Princess Bride to read, I’ve read a lit...

The Best Experience of my Young Life: Casa Bonita

I read an article by Westword that read if Disneyland and Tijuana had a baby and left it to fend for itself in a strip mall on Colfax, it’d be Casa Bonita. I finally got to experience this gem with some of my friends, Nai and Hannah, who have also been eager to try the restaurant out.       We pulled into the packed parking lot of Casa Bonita that stood in the same shopping complex as two dollar stores and a kids dental office next door. People surrounded the outside as the fountain splashed and I took photos as rapidly as a mom on Christmas morning. This was it, the best of themed dining experiences. We entered into a very confusing entryway and found the line, but first we stopped by the bathroom, which happened to be very nice. We stood in the red velvet roped line with other epicures, such as ourselves, waiting to order at the register. The line was dark, but illuminated by Corona neons, a sign with the words “Easto Much, Peso Little”, a vi...

Things I've Found on the Ground

Family and friends, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It has been a while since I've published a blog post, but after audience interest in the rekindling of the blog here I am at the 11th hour to ensure a numerical year doesn't go by without a post. I guess I've been gone because I've been busy or less inspired…I don't know. Anyways, for the past two years (and some months) I’ve taken pictures of things I find on the ground, some of  them are amusing, so I’ve decided to share some and write little stories for each. So, please enjoy a small collection of photos and commentary of things I’ve found on the ground.  Making Love in a Hopeless Place Where: Walmart Parking Lot When: December What: An Open Condom Wrapper Can anyone imagine a more romantic place to cement your love than a Walmart parking lot. I surely can't. Forget fireworks you have the rustle of your grocery bags in the back seat. Meanwhile the cold midnight air wafts in through your cracked windows a...
