A Review: May 2018

The past May contained some of my most favorite memories!

Crowning of Mary
One of my last days of school was for the Virgin Mary, so in one of my clubs we put flowers on by her feet as the school crowned her already. It was very pretty and serene, a time to reflect and sit in the beauty!

2nd to Last Day
The second to last day of school was my favorite! and wearing my favorite Lilly Pulitzer clothing topped it all off!
I began the day with yoga, but instead we walked around the neighborhood by the school and viewed the sights, pet some dogs, and talked about whatever was under the sun together. During our walk we saw some of the boys playing spikeball at the near by park which surprised us.
After yoga I had academic support where I had one of my favorite conversations. I was walking in the quad when some friends invited me to talk. We discussed graduation cookies, the Met Gala, the nuns on campus, what to wear in college, how to talk to boys, and much more. I had such a great time, and then we walked to art.
In art, my classmates and I just hung out outside the classroom doing whatever. Towards the end of the period our security guard talked to us about  our stadium, so some of us walked out there to see what was going on, but it was all over before we could see.
My 3rd class was psychology where we continued presentations about different psychology topics and then had fun talking with each other and other things.
Lunch was great too, I don't know what I did, but I know i enjoyed it, I think I just had lunch on the hill.
Finally, I had my last examen and then statistics. Only seven girls showed up for statistics, so I asked our teacher if we could go get frozen yogurt down the street. We hung outside for a bit and then we headed down to the frozen yogurt place! It was so fun walking down there even though we had trouble going down a really steep hill. We eventually got there and got our yogurt when a class of boys walked in too. Whatever, it was just a lot of fun to hang out with everybody. We walked back, but this time the security guards picked us up in the golf cart and took us back home. We crowded on and the sun was golden! It was very surreal just hanging on and driving up the hill with my classmates with the golden sun shining after getting frozen yogurt wearing my Lilly Pulitzer and favorite polo! It was fabulous!
The day ended, but it was okay because my mom picked me up with a gift!
It's actually a Kate Spade notebook not a book.

Last Day!
Finally, the last day was here and it was also, oh so fabulous!
I began the day in Theology where even though I asked the teacher if we could get frozen yogurt, we couldn't. We just finished our presentations and left with big hugs from our teacher!
During academic support we received our yearbooks, so we all looked at them and a good time on the green!
In art that day we just had to doodle and make it through the class, ugh.
During, reading and writing fiction, we finished our presentations and were taught by our teacher common sense and other vital information to be an adult. I was doubtful and kinda scared that this was the REAL WORLD, but now I understand the information and it's true! Finally, we signed each others yearbooks and just talked with each other which I loved.
We were let out a little early because the rest of the day (after lots of persuading) was for the slip n' slide! I put shorts on and said and absurd a mount of times "I feel like a slut!" We all went to the Stadium for "lunch." and then the slip n' slide! The slip n' slide was SO fun! There is a perfect hill for it where the horizon and mountains are seen clearly. Sometimes we linked arms and go down and sometimes we didn't. The boys were much more crazy than us as they would jump and run onto it.
It was really great and again surreal when I looked at the skyline thinking about how much I wanted to remember this day, so perfect. Finally, everyone drove off and my friends and I went for frozen yogurt. It was an fabulous day that was so much fun!

Graduation Party!
Later on in May my friends and I had our graduation party. The shopping for it was crazy though, there was a big hailstorm while we were driving! Anyways, it was held at one our houses on a beautiful sunny day! My friends and I set up a bit and decorated our cakes together, they were cute! We also got cute message boards to put by our gift table, that were adorable!
People began to trickle in, so I got to talk to them which I loved! Quite a few people came which was fun. There was a trampoline and one of our guests who was a cheerleader did a flip, but landed on rocks. She was okay though. The trampoline was one of my favorite parts! I just love jumping! Some guests and I jumped together and held a conversation! Another guest and I talked about our futures, which was another amazing conversation.
While at the table, everyone began singing Christian songs together which was so sweet and funny! It was very similar to the nights we'd spend after Bible Study in the summer.
Some of my relatives came by which was very special. I was not expecting them, but they came! I always like talking to them because it's always funny and there are lots of inside jokes!
As the afternoon went on into night and guests left, my friends and I laid on the trampoline giggling together, very surreal, yet again.

Cleaning the Pool!
During my early summer I got to clean my pool for work! I love that pool. It was very dirty with debris on the bottom, but nothing a vacuum or chemicals can't fix. We sprayed down everything! We also brushed the bottom and set up everything for the beginning of the summer!

Cleaning!

Dirty Pool

Clean Pool! Yay!

Graduation!
Graduation while sad was also very fun! It began with rehearsal of course and another assembly even though we had been out of school for two weeks.
That weekend though was our graduation Mass which was very pretty. We all had our dresses on and attended Mass! Afterwards we had dinner and awards!
The next day was graduation! It began with a large group message asking us to tell what we were thankful for, some serious and some silly! My family and I rushed over to the venue and it began I walked into the bowels of the venue. We had our gowns and hats on, while we talked before graduation. We lined up and had so much fun just goofing around. We walked out sat down and the ceremony began. There were speeches including what we were thankful for, which ended with what I was thankful for.... .  It was very beautiful and loud. Some families blew air horns when their daughter walked and some rented out rows and cheered endlessly! It didn't feel very long. My hat kept getting loose which was awful, but it was fine. I walked across and received my diploma. Towards the end, we were confused about throwing it, so not many were thrown. At the end we walked off and the teachers said to us to go since we weren't under their direction anymore. Family and friends greeted us with hugs and smiles. We took a few photos and left a beautiful night.

May was so fabulous!

God Bless!

20 Activities for 20 year Olds

Good Morning Family and Friends! Recently I have been incredibly bored, hopefully my online classes will entertain me more. I have previously stated that I wasn’t practicing social distancing or whatever, however my mom has been making me stay inside more often and now Colorado is on lockdown. I looked up activities for 20 year olds and didn’t find anything, I guess people make these lists for stay at home moms with young children. So, I decided to make my own list for you, the audience, if you’re bored (which if you’re reading this you probably are) and looking for something to do. Read Woah, how original...read. I don’t read for pleasure often. In the summer I read The Great Gatsby  and I usually read one of Father Greg Boyle’s books some other time in the year. I also read my Vogue magazines. Two books and a magazine isn’t that much. However, since there is more time to do stuff, I figured I could read more. My brother gave me The Princess Bride to read, I’ve read a lit...

The Best Experience of my Young Life: Casa Bonita

I read an article by Westword that read if Disneyland and Tijuana had a baby and left it to fend for itself in a strip mall on Colfax, it’d be Casa Bonita. I finally got to experience this gem with some of my friends, Nai and Hannah, who have also been eager to try the restaurant out.       We pulled into the packed parking lot of Casa Bonita that stood in the same shopping complex as two dollar stores and a kids dental office next door. People surrounded the outside as the fountain splashed and I took photos as rapidly as a mom on Christmas morning. This was it, the best of themed dining experiences. We entered into a very confusing entryway and found the line, but first we stopped by the bathroom, which happened to be very nice. We stood in the red velvet roped line with other epicures, such as ourselves, waiting to order at the register. The line was dark, but illuminated by Corona neons, a sign with the words “Easto Much, Peso Little”, a vi...

Things I've Found on the Ground

Family and friends, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It has been a while since I've published a blog post, but after audience interest in the rekindling of the blog here I am at the 11th hour to ensure a numerical year doesn't go by without a post. I guess I've been gone because I've been busy or less inspired…I don't know. Anyways, for the past two years (and some months) I’ve taken pictures of things I find on the ground, some of  them are amusing, so I’ve decided to share some and write little stories for each. So, please enjoy a small collection of photos and commentary of things I’ve found on the ground.  Making Love in a Hopeless Place Where: Walmart Parking Lot When: December What: An Open Condom Wrapper Can anyone imagine a more romantic place to cement your love than a Walmart parking lot. I surely can't. Forget fireworks you have the rustle of your grocery bags in the back seat. Meanwhile the cold midnight air wafts in through your cracked windows a...
