A Review: September 2018

In September I got used to college, but not enough to not go home.

I'm Back!
For Labor Day I went back home, yay! I even went back to work because my brother was feeling sick. It was so nice to even be at the pool and see familiar faces again.

Actually , my last day that year.

Birthday
For one of my friends' birthdays I created a piece of art featuring her favorite things.

Pool
One day during a trip to Target I saw an inflatable pool on sale. I figure we should have a pool in our room! So, we take it back inflate it and add water! it only stayed for a week though, it was taking up room and creating humidity. It was cool to say I had a pool in my room.

Freshman Camping Trip
In September I attended the Freshman Camping Trip with CRU. I really enjoyed the chill in the air and how quiet it was. The stars were also pretty. I talked with a lot of people too. Overall, it was fun.

Hiking
With the Catholic club I participated in a mini retreat where the freshmen got to know each other with fun events like sofa racing and milkshakes. That was all fun, but the next day was a hike! I did not enjoy it. I was out of breath which was weird because I do fine on hikes at home. There was also a lot of uphill and I was just exhausted with it. I do not like hiking. However there were nuns and they talked to me, so that was fun.

Surprise!
After hearing I should surprise my family by coming home unexpectedly, I did! I took a bus and traveled all the way home! I was pretty proud of myself! I didn't really do much except hang out. My family was happy to see me!

Parking Day
Once again in another post I go over Parking Day where my group and I turned a parking spot into a interactive piece of art. That was a busy day though. I went from class to class! I really wanted to play kickball with the nuns that day, but I couldn't because of my schedule.

What I Have Learned in College
A lot of September is in my "What I Have learned in College" post including don't go to Wal-Mart after 10.

September was a very quick month and included lots of new experiences.

Major Life Advice

Recently during class I was giving an acquaintance/friend advice after being asked "How am I so happy?" and another acquaintance/friend wanted me to begin as she thought this was very important. Today I want to share part of a book (google doc) that I've been writing throughout the years that is full of advice I have received and found. Today is the Best Day of My Life This may sound crazy, but it's true, everyday is the best day of your life because you never know when life will end. I learned this from my dad who even thought it was crazy when he heard it from his friend. This advice has helped me look at the positive in every day things. What I've Learned in College: End of Freshman Year Fun part 2

Continued from Part 1 8.Cowboys are Real Cowboys are typically seen as people who used to live in the Wild West years and years ago. I honestly think that my grandfather was one of the last American cowboys. While, I wills till continue to this this, I have learned that cowboys are still real! Every once in a while, I will see an old man sporting leather cowboy boots, a blue pair of Wrangler jeans, a button down shirt, a weathered, leather belt, a leather vest, a cowboy hat, a grown out beard, and skin weathered and tan like the leather. I didn’t think people still dressed like this besides for show! This is someone’s real life outfit! I am always astonished to see people like this because I don’t see them regularly. A Review: January 2018

As the end of year was yesterday, I will reflect on each of my month's in 2018! In this post I will go through the most fun moments in January! Breckenridge My family and I spent New Years Eve in Breckenridge. It was the busiest we’ve ever seen in Breckenridge, but it was fun seeing everyone walk down the streets with their colorful ski gear. Our hotel room faced the snow. While, we don’t ski, we did go shopping when we got fudge from Foote's Rest in Frisco. I also brought my #GetFloaty Giant Unicorn (No, it’s not sponsored, I’m not that cool) and we floated on it while the fireworks shot off. We made sure to see the Ice Castles. They had lights in icicles formed by water and artists. There was a maze, tight spaces underneath the ice to climb, a slide, and a fountain. I even saw my friend up there at Noodles and Co. Finally, my brother and I watched all the skiers on Peak 8. There was a big jump that was built for a ski competition, so it was cool to see that. Breck ...
