August was filled many beginnings and endings.
Pool Party!
The month began as usual, with me working at the pool. My friend and I made sure to make the most of it! I taught her how to make the snack, Ants on a Log, and we just simply enjoyed each other's company.
Grand Junction
My family and I went to Grand Junction for a family member's birthday. It was a lot of fun because I met family that I did not know before. Families stories were shared that may or may not be true which is always a good time. The best part was the cake though. My family and I think that the baker was told "I want this on the cake." The baker then just put a photo of the cake that they wanted it modeled after, instead of the actual design.
Our hotel that night was fun. The pool was so cold and blue, so refreshing.
The next day we drove back, but not without fruit from Palisade! We drove around until we found a person we wanted to buy fruit from. We stopped at this one house and the man, who just finished picking peaches, sold us some. The peaches were picked no more than half an hour before, full of sugar. He was very nice and we had a long conversation with him about mutual friends and similar experiences that my dad has had. One of his stories was about how much fun he had water skiing at the same time hunters would be dressed in their orange. We finished talking to him and I also asked if we could add one of the jumbo peaches to our box, so one was added. As we walked to our car, I took a big bite of the peach. It was like candy, so warm, so sweet, so peachy, so juicy, so big, and so fuzzy! It tasted real, what peach candy should taste like. It was perfect. The best peach I have ever had, simply amazing!
Pack and Go!
Once I got back from Grand Junction it was time to pack! I packed all my clothes, bedding, food, supplies, and more up and everything was stuffed in the car!
My family and I went up to college.
We unpacked and I met my roommate. After everything was unpacked i hugged my parents. I hugged them SO much that they said they were being embarrassed.
The events began for the day, so i went along with them. There was even a picnic and carnival. I sat with one of my high school friends and her mom, which was so nice and comforting.
God Bless!
